Remus – The Cardinal Boys Cross Country team continued their impressive start in CSAA action on Tuesday as they took first place by 37 points over Newaygo, who finished second. The girls team finished fifth on the day behind first place Chippewa Hills.
For the boys, it was Clark Ruiz that led the way again finishing in first place with a time of 16:41. Ben Shaffer finished fourth and Brent Heberling finished seventh with times of 17:30 and 18:04 respectively. Ethan Goodman and Hunter Jacobs rounded out the scoring for the Cardinals finishing 15th and 18th with times of 18:55 and 19:02.
For the girls it was Chloe Kinnaly leading the way finishing fifth overall with a time of 20:15. Kayla Chamberlain, Katie King, and Maddie Zadvinskis also put up strong performances with times of 23:30, 25:06 and 27:00.
The Cardinals are back in action next Tuesday as they head to White Cloud for the third CSAA Jamboree.
